A brief account of the places we visited.


The river is alive with fresh water crocodiles but also has a fair number of salt water crocodiles as well. Notices make it clear that you should be very careful if fishing from the river bank - it is a popular Barramundi fishing spot.
We did not see a saltie close up but did see one flopping over the crossing some distance away.

The term "Crossing" is used quite a bit in these parts and refers to places where people cross rivers over a concrete platform - sometimes with pipes under them but not always. They could be constructed in a different way.
We would describe them as "fords" and ours are nowhere near as big as these ones.
