JEREMY TUGWOOD

This is first for me, but I’ve just received a message from Pam Parker (the lovely wife of my old run ashore oppo’ in the early 60’s and years since!)

Sadly, she’s asked that I pass on the loss of her husband, my great mate and former Band Colour Sergeant Jem Tugwood - whom many of you will know as a fine musician wherever he served - including Staff Band to a lengthy service on board the Royal Yacht.

We first met in a Boxing Ring at Deal’s infamous Gym and remained oppo’s ever since - including an 18 month Med’ and later West Indies commission together on board HMS Blake (the brand new Tiger class Cruiser during 1961-62). Unforgettable days!

Unfortunately, Jem became the victim of a Stroke over 2 years plus ago and had never truly recovered - although he did make the RMB Reunion in 2024, he was re admitted into St Richard’s Chichester in late September and was unfortunately unable to make this year’s in early October.

Rest peacefully now Jem. You will be hugely missed by all who knew you - including your lovely family.
