I found your article on Rod Stewart who served as an RM trombonist from 76 to 86. I knew him as a youngster when we both played in Perth Silver Band.

I found an old pic of the band with Roo (as we called him) front row RHS. This was taken in 76, the year he joined the Royal Marines. It was a pleasure to read about his life. I was saddened to hear he passed away whilst still relatively young.
