Kath Beare

I thought that I should pass on some news that I received from Maxie Beare about his wife Kath. As mentioned before, Kath had a fall in her care home some time ago and was taken to hospital with broken bones. He tells me now that in hospital, Kath has had yet another fall and has had a stroke. Both Maxie and Kath are having a bad time recently, and is asking for all our thoughts and prayers.

Bernard 'Max' Beare

Maxie Beare has been in Hospital again after having yet another Heart Attack. He also has a Gastro Problem. To make matters worse his wife Kath has had a fall in her care home and she is also now in Hospital. I feel sure all members of our RMB family would like to know that our thoughts and prayers are with them at this time.

Maxie has had another heart attack!!!!! This time he has had an angioplasty and two stents fitted and sounded not too bad on the dog and bone yesterday. He's even up for a good Skype ... and I think that these stents will really help the arterial flow which is just the job at this stage. He's a worry is young Max!!!! ... but he's promised faithfully not to frighten us all again!!!

My dear Richard,

Many thanks for your kind words, and yes it's great to be back in the land of the living. Would you believe I have had three trips to the hospital since November, this was the worst, once I had collapsed I didn't wake up till in my bed in North Shore, however now back with it, although can't drive for 3 months by law! I get a thrill out of the many letters I get, especially the ones from Graham Hoskins and Ray Woodfield........I think I get more letters than any other bandsman. Today as you may know is ANZAC day and a big day here in godzone, town parades and more, in fact we held our own parade here in the village yesterday, and I lead in the veterans to a March by the Pompy Band of course. It was a beaut' service and morning tea, spoilt in the afternoon, by four old dears objecting to me playing the piano, as it spoils their concentration to play cards, I had a few words with them but management were called in and stopped a riot!

Kath is now home with me and although Alzheimer's will never get better we are coping with all the support I get from Govt, 5 days a week Kath is taken into care and gets home at 4.30, and I get 28 days' year respite and can have days off with a support person looking after Kath for me.

Dear ol' Joe is in for a long haul, with his broken leg and hip, but has good care with Bev in charge of the ward. We try and see him at least twice a week.

OK then Rich, will move on, my team are playing this afternoon, the Warriors league side, playing N.Queensland once again thanks for your lovely letter will stay in touch, meantime take care God Bless and love to the family, Max and Kath x
