Bill
served for 7 years in the Band Service, firstly as a horn player with
the Plymouth Div. Band and then on amalgamation with the RMSM. On leaving
the Band Service Bill joined the Nottinghamshire Police in 1956 serving
for 27 years. He continued his interest in music by firstly playing
with the Notts. Police Band and later conducting first the Notts. Police
Male Voice Choir and then the Police Band. He relinquished this post
in 1993. He continued to play with, and also arrange and compose for
a local horn group until deteriorating health prevented this. |
