Maggie Davis has now received the total raised from recent fundraising events held over the last few months. The Charity Golf and Gala Ball & Auction held at Dartmouth in August, along with the online donations raised a fantastic £11,500.00 which has been donated to the Motor Neurons Disease Association. On behalf of Sid’s family and all those involved in organising the events, thank you for your support and donations.

Sid would be chuffed to bits.

A Charity Golf day and Gala Ball took place at the Dartmouth Golf Club on Thursday 12th August to raise funds for the MND Association. The event was initially organised by former WO1 Bandmaster Simon “Sid” Davis and his wife Maggie following Sid being diagnosed with MND some 18 Months ago. Sadly Sid didn’t live to see the event take place, as he died on 28th May as a result of Motor Neurones Disease.

During the day nearly 70 Golfers played the course and in the evening over 150 friends, family and many former RMB colleagues attended a Black Tie Ball. Music before the event was provided by the BRNC Volunteer Band “Big Band”.

The Charity day raised over £8,000 for MND and an online donation page set up by Maggie Davis for those unable to attend the Charity day has raised another £2,000 so far. The page remains open for donations to this worthwhile cause.
