I'm attaching a couple of photos that might be of interest. They are
of the dance band of HMS 'Belfast' 1949/50. The photo taken in the Ominato
canteen was the evening before the Korean War started and when we got
back to the ship it was darken ship and we were away to join up with
the American Fleet. It was during this commission that the Yangtse incident
took place and we spent many weeks swinging at anchor at the mouth of
the Yangtse waiting for the 'Amythyst' to escape. We returned to Hong
Kong and were actually playing for a dinner party, which was hastily
disbanded, when the C in C heard that she was escaping.
