From Nick Davies

Hi Dick

First let me pass on ALL the good wishes I can muster for you and yours for the coming year. We, my family and I, wish you everything that you wish for yourself.

I sent you a message in December about the passing on of the above mentioned Ex RM Bandsman. He was a very able oboe player with a fantastic sense of humour. John Robert Ballentyne. Sometimes he was a little OTT but he was always up for a run ashore, a FEW pints and a skylark. Unfortunately I didn't know him when he was in the 'mob'. I met John whilst we were both serving in the TA in Hull. 150 Transport Regiment. Royal Logistic Corps. Anyway, he unfortunately had a mishap which led to his untimely demise. He died on or about the 8th of December and was cremated and laid to rest in Hull on 12/12/02. The service was very well attended but I don't know if any other Ex RMB's were there. Sorry I can't throw any light on his service career but if anyone can it would be nice if they could fill in the blanks--ie:number, where he served etc.

Take Care Mate...Look forward to hearing from you soon.

Fond regards...Yours Aye

Nick Davies and Family
