YEARS! Derek

On the 1st September 2001 three ex bandies met in Dartmouth who have not seen each other for at least 36 years. I forward a photo of the event which shows L to R :- 'Bart' Bartholomew (Solo Clart) Derek Roberts (Clart & Violin) Jackie (Paddy) Semple (Trombone) Oh how we have changed, all looking to keep our stomachs in for the photo! Paddy flew over from Ireland for the get together but believe it or not 'Bart' and Derek only lived 30 miles apart and did not know all these years. The reunion coincided with the Dartmouth Regatta which Paddy thoroughly enjoyed so it appears this may be a regular event. I must say a personal thank to Bart's wife Marilyn who did us proud in the food (and drink) department it was superb. We all shall meet again no doubt with numerous other Ex Rmbs at the reunion at HMS Excellent in the Whaley Club on 13th October 2001. |
