The Hampshire Ex-Servicemen's Concert Band

Dickie,

I wonder if you could be so kind as to put this on the notice board. Like me there may be a few old die-hards out there in the Hampshire area that might still want to work their fingers into a symphonic frenzy.

I'd like to mention the 'The Hampshire Ex-Servicemen's Concert Band' a great bunch of guys & gals from Military bands across various services, including a few ex-RMB's ...

Dave Clackett - Flute
Mick Blandford - Clarinet
Fred Wyllie - Saxophone
Fred Pacey - Bass
Bert Hall - String Bass

I wonder if there are any other lads that might fancy coming along. I've included details below.

Regards to all

The band is formed as a standard military band with woodwind, brass and percussion instruments and performs throughout the county of Hampshire and surrounding counties. The band rehearses each Monday evening, with the exception of Bank Holidays, in Winchester. The band as its title suggests is a Concert Band and not a marching band and there are no membership fees. Up to twenty engagements are performed each year and the band has supported many well known charities.

In 2003, the bands 10th anniversary year it is hoped to record a Compact Disc to commemorate the event as well as concerts in Chandlers Ford, Shipton Bellinger, Worthing and Winchester and performing as the house band at the Tattoo at Fort Nelson, Fareham. The band has 36 members but are looking particularly for the following players:-

Oboe, Bb Clarinet, Bassoon and French Horn however all other instrumentalists considered.
