I am sure that Dickie Valentine would appreciate it if you were to send him selected photographs from your extensive collection. Colleagues are always interested in any that are placed on-line for they see themselves as they were all those formative years ago.

Accordingly, responding to Graham’s suggestion, I take the liberty of enclosing some of these pictures.

Most of my time in the RMB was spent at the RMSM under Sir Vivian - an extraordinary fruitful period of music making. Apart from my period in the RMSM ‘band’ I had two overseas drafts (i) ‘East Indies’ under Bandmaster Ron Spencer on HMS Superb and (ii) ‘Far East’ under Bandmaster Toms - HMS Lion.
