The Sound of Muesli
Sgt's Mess Panto ~ 2016

Saturday 16th January saw the final performance of a sell-out 12 night run for this year’s production from the Sgts Mess pantomime at the Astor Theatre, Deal. Loosely based on the 1960’s musical of a similar name, The Sound of Muesli saw the novice nun “Marina” and members of the “Shut your Trap” family attempting to escape from the clutches of the Nasty Party and finally being rescued by the Royal Marines.
As a result of their efforts in 2016, the cast and crew raised over £27,000 for charity, bringing the total raised during the last 4 years to over £88,000. A cheque for £10,000 was accepted on behalf of the Royal Marines Charitable Trust by the Deputy Commandant General Royal Marines, Brigadier Richard Spencer OBE and the Corp RSM WO1 (RSM) Phil Gilbey, who traveled from Portsmouth to the attend the final performance. A presentation night was held at the Royal Marines Association club, Deal on 30th January, where sixteen local Charities and good causes received cheques totaling £17,000.
